關於: Following on from its success in the last couple of years, The ASP World Tour will again take centre stage at Supertubos in Peniche, Portugal. The finest surfers known to humanity will descend upon the Portuguese coastline, to tackle incredible waves. The world-class wave found at Supertubos is being touted as one of the best beach breaks in the world. Waves can reach up to 4 or 5 metres in height, drawing their power from the long and deep swells which are fuelled by the Atlantic Ocean. In fact it looks so similar to the Hawaiian Banzai Pipeline, that many surfers have taken to referring to it as 'the European pipe'. During 2009's search this particular wave proved pretty dangerous, offering more than just a challenge it managed to injure some of the top surfers. But when you have a current top 5 in the ASP standings made up of Kelly Slater, Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow, Dane Reynolds and Mick Fanning - I think it's safe to say that the swell will have more than met its match. With only two more dates left on the schedule after Portugal, you can really expect the competition to heat up.
